With the Japanese school year coming to an end and Swedish family coming to Japan to visit, our little family made a trip to Tokyo to meet them. But before seeing our relatives, we visited the world of Star Wars! As it happens, there was a Star Wars pop-up store in Ginza that I had read about, and when I told my son and wife they also really wanted to go.
Coming up the escalator I could not tell which one of us was most excited. There is a new Star Wars movie coming in May, and I guess they try to make business out of it, hence a pop-up store that heavily featured goods and visuals from this upcoming movie. Our son got very fascinated with a life sized Darth Vader doll, and we all got matching Star Wars caps to use this spring as well as some other small items to use in our increasingly Star Wars focused life.
Since one year now, our son is taking piano lessons and his new dream after our Tokyo trip is being able to play the Star Wars main theme. I am happy every time he sets his own ambitious goals as that tends to make him very motivated to do and learn. He knows the theme melody by heart and keeps humming it all the time, so my mission no is to find a suitable beginner’s piano arrangement for him to start practicing.
