sweet dreams

The last week our little boy has been having a fever. The nights have been restless, filled with coughing that had him wake up all the time, almost as soon as he got back to sleep. It is of course a bit worrisome and painful to see our little boy in such discomfort, so the relief when he is finally is getting better is all the more palpable.

Of course I got sick as well, and the week of sickness we spent doing puzzles, sleeping, building LEGO and playing with his little toy cars. Some time ago a friend came to play, he is a bit older than our son and brought a few of his toy cars as a present for our son. While being sick we have been playing with these cars over and over again, especially with a little Nissan Skyline, making tunnels and slopes and racing tracks, drawing pictures of the cars and using play-doh to make car molds. Maybe it is no surprise that my baby has been dreaming about toy cars as well.

When the fever finally broke and a peaceful sleep ensued, I watched a smiling boy dreaming about his favorite shining silver car. Skyline, he said in his sleep. Skyline. Now I hope I can see some peaceful worryfree dreams too.
