excitement

I have never seen our son as happy as the past week. His cousins and uncle came to visit us and it was like a new bigger world suddenly opened up to our boy. Not being stuck with his dad all day, but instead having two children giving him their complete attention made him grow weeks in a matter of a few days I feel. He started to communicate in new ways, explored new ways of playing and experienced places he had never been.

Apart from having friends to play with on the beach, I think his favorite experience was the aquarium. He got to see big fish and turtles and dolphins in real life for the first time. His eyes were shining and I only heard one other kid talking as enthusiastically as him. My little boy wanted to join in the water fun and tried to take off his shoes and walk around in the little water pond inside the aquarium lobby; when he was stopped he became very unhappy and tiredly fell asleep as soon as we got back to the car. After a nap, the sadness was gone when he woke up at the beach and could finish the day running around in shoreline with his cousins.

What a happy time it was – for two days after his cousins left my son went around the house looking for them. It is a good thing that video-calls are possible, until they meet again.
