halloween

Halloween was not over until the Christmas decorations started to pop up in stores and windows. My son was very happy when he saw the first Christmas tree of the season on the counter of a cake shop in the local shopping mall and started to talk about putting up decorations at home as well. For me it is far far to early, so after some back and forth we agreed that we should wait at least a few weeks and enjoy fall here first until we take out our Christmas ornaments.

Yes autumn is finally here, the temperature has dropped enough to feel a chill the mornings when we wait for the bus and our bedroom gets a bit cold in the early hours of morning, so the other day I took out the winter blankets. I also changed our wardrobes, putting the summer clothes in big zip-bags, putting the zip-bags in the attic, and in the attic I saw the box with our foldable reusable Christmas tree. Having planned to include pictures of both Halloween and Christmas decorations in this post, seeing the box containing our plastic pine tree I strongly felt that for now, I will content myself with a picture from our Halloween dinner – Japanese curry-rice. There is still a lot of time for Christmas later.
