Ever since he was one, our son has been happily greeting people we are meeting in passing. When he sees a neighbor walking by he opens the window and says good morning or hello, when we are out walking he always says hello to the people we meet, and the other day his aptitude for greetings made him a new friend. Close to the corner where we wait for the kindergarten bus every morning, there is a retirement home. We always say hello to the staff coming to work while we are waiting, but sometimes there are also residents talking a little morning walk in the car park in front of the entrance and last week my son decided to start to talk to an elderly lady walking slowly with a rollator in front of her. He was saying good morning and she was answering him politely just as the bus came. The following day, we saw the lady out walking again, and again my son said good morning and she asked where he was going. Then the kindergarten bus came. The third day, my son decided to get out from under his umbrella and called out to her with a big voice as he saw her walking behind the parked cars. That day they had a chance to a little longer chat, and my son asked the lady how she was doing and she commented on his waiting for the bus with such a big smile that I got the impression that my son had made her day by giving her his full attention while she was doing her morning exercise. And seeing that made me so happy to. Thank you my darling boy.
