What can be better than a beautiful spring day and a drive along the Itoshima coast line? Well, it turns out, a drive in pouring rain. Our family has a favorite beach where we often go to swim during summer, and every so often when we take a leisurely Sunday drive in the off-season, we go to this beach for a walk and a little bit of play in the sand. This Sunday however, as we got closer to the beach, the nice sunshine and fluffy clouds were replaced by a threatening grey sky. We parked close to the sea and just as we were to step out of the car to go and interact with the sand, the clouds started to pour water on the car. While our son got sad that the beach play was cancelled, I got very excited when I saw the beautiful scenery that appeared through the window of the car. We were suddenly sitting in the middle of a water color painting. Although we were on opposite ends on the scale of happiness, my son and I agreed that we did not want to leave before the rain stopped. He wanted to wait so we could play outside. I wanted to enjoy the aquarelle view as long as possible. In the end we agreed to come back soon to play and instead my wife drove us home in the pouring rain.
